We are seeking a highly qualified and dedicated Latin Educator to join our team at the Diocese of St. Augustine. As a key member of our educational community, the successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Latin and promoting a deeper understanding of classical studies.
Key Responsibilities- Teaching and Curriculum Development: Design and deliver engaging lesson plans that cater to the needs of students, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of Latin and classical studies.
- Classroom Management: Establish a positive and productive learning environment, promoting self-direction and a positive self-image among students.
- Professional Development: Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in education and classical studies.
- Community Building: Collaborate with colleagues to build a strong faith community, fostering a sense of belonging and shared values among students, staff, and parents.
- Communication: Effectively communicate with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a smooth and successful educational experience.
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Latin or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Experience: Prior experience teaching AP or DE is preferred.
- Certifications: Must maintain Professional Educator certification in the State of Florida and Basic Diocesan Ministry Certification.
- Skills: Proficient in the use of computer technology, including school-related software, and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
The work environment is typically moderate, with occasional evening and weekend hours required to accommodate school-related events.
