GCR Inc. is seeking a skilled electrician to join our team in Panama City, Florida.
Job Summary:
The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical equipment and systems for GCR Inc.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install electrical equipment such as circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, or other transmission equipment.
- Repair, test, and maintain electrical equipment, machinery, and systems such as generators, motors, and lighting systems.
- Perform inspection rounds of electrical equipment and maintain records and schedules of tasks and inspections.
- Perform general maintenance on equipment, machinery, and facility.
- Organize all work assigned and complete accurately and on-time all work tickets and required paperwork.
- Support electrical requirements of HVAC and other trades as required.
- Keep electrical spaces clean, leave work sites in better condition than when arrived.
- Fully document work order steps, enter log notes, condition, and make recommendations for improved maintenance.
- Identify additional maintenance needs requiring attention and report those to the appropriate supervisory personnel.
- Provide physical support as needed and directed for the various tradesmen in the company and assisting subcontractors as assigned.
- Maintain effective communication with Project Management/Supervision/Employees and customers.
- Present a professional, positive, and helpful attitude at all times when interacting with customers, co-workers, and supervision.
- Operate equipment and vehicles, perform pick up of supplies and/or materials.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Safety Requirements:
- Comply with and actively participate in the GCR Occupational Safety & Health Program.
- Perform all assigned work in a safe and reasonable manner that avoids preventable injury and preventable property/equipment damage to you, co-workers, Customers, the Company, and/or the public.
- Safely perform functions of the position including proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis, lockout/tagout and wearing PPE as required.
- Through leadership and personal example, exemplify a personal commitment to and support of the Company/Project Safety Culture.
- Monitor subordinate safety compliance, ensuring safety is integral part of all work activities.
- Take appropriate corrective action (stop-work, remedial training, disciplinary action, etc.) when subordinates fail comply with established OSH policies & procedures in order to prevent recurrence.
- Use and enforce the wearing of personal protective equipment.
- Always wear a seatbelt while operating/riding in a company vehicle, or a privately-owned vehicle while performing work activities or acting as an agent of the Company.
- Never talk on the phone without hand free option or text message while operating in a company vehicle or a privately-owned vehicle while performing work activities or acting as an agent of the Company.
- Not be unfit for work due to the presence, ingestion, consumption or inhalation of illegal drugs, prescribed medications, over-the-counter drugs and/or alcohol.
Qualifications:
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance/Base Access.
- Be a citizen of the United States.
- Submit to and successfully pass Pre-employment Drug Screening and Background Check.
- HS Diploma or equivalent.
- Electrical Journeyman's License.
- Qualified Electrical Worker.
- Minimum of three years' experience in the Electrical trades.
- Valid State Driver's License and reliable transportation.
- Ability to work in extreme work environments, such as heat, cold, heights, confined spaces, excessive noise, etc.
- Be physically capable of performing the physical requirements of the position on a daily basis.
- Able to work a non-traditional work week, to include evenings, weekends and/or Holidays as work demands dictate and/or directed by the Superintendent.
