Vets Hired is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Security Monitor to join our team. As a Security Monitor, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our residents and facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sign-in and Sign-out Procedures: Ensure that residents are signed in and out of the facility according to established policies and procedures.
  • Communication and Documentation: Answer office telephones and document phone calls received from residents according to established policies and procedures.
  • Resident Processing: Process incoming and releasing residents, conduct resident headcounts, room & property searches, and fire safety & hazard inspections.
  • Medication Administration: Collect urine samples, administer breathalyzer tests, and count and issue resident medications as prescribed by the residents physician.
  • Meal Distribution: Distribute meals as required.
  • Supervision and Sanitation: Supervise resident work assignments (including extra duty) and maintain facility sanitation standards on a daily basis.
  • Reporting and Compliance: Write official reports pertaining to resident rule violations, ensure the facility is free from hazards through regular security checks, and report anything found to be out of compliance.
  • Contraband Control: Control the introduction of contraband through searches.
  • Visitor Processing: Process visitors into the Center, including temporary approval of visitor applications, and ensure compliance with the established visitor policy.
  • Log Maintenance: Review staff notes and maintain the center logs, documenting all required information.
  • Rule Enforcement: Enforce all rules and regulations of the RRC and the Bureau of Prisons.
  • Training and Compliance: Attend monthly mandatory staff meetings, complete all annual training required by the contract, and comply with federal, state and local laws and regulations.
  • Break and Meal Procedures: Ensure rest and meal breaks are taken in accordance with California law.
  • Reporting Incidents: Report any violation of company policy, employee handbook Standards of Conduct, etc.
  • Facility Maintenance: Maintain the cleanliness and proper order of the Center offices.
  • Correcting Safety Issues: Promptly correct and/or address safety issues upon awareness, such as replacing burnt out light bulbs, placing warning signs on wet pavement or floor areas, and promptly reporting to a supervisor any safety issue that cannot be immediately corrected.
  • Resident Subsistence Payments: Process resident subsistence payments.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.
