About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Logistics Material Handler to join our team at nVent. As a key member of our warehouse operations, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient movement and storage of inventory.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of material handling tasks, including pick location replenishment, inbound stock putaway, inventory cycle counting, and truck loading/unloading.
  • Operate forklift equipment safely and efficiently, completing daily lift inspections and adhering to safety policies.
  • Complete daily 5S tasks to maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment.
  • Accurately complete inventory moves per WMS task assignment, ensuring accurate quantity and location.
  • Meet productivity rates when performing each material handling task.
  • Communicate effectively with leads and supervisors to address any barriers or concerns.
  • Contribute to our Continuous Improvement Program by participating in value stream teams or suggesting improvements to increase Safety, Quality, On-Time Delivery, or Cost performance.
Requirements
  • 1 year of experience in a distribution center or similar environment.
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
  • Ability to accurately match visual information on a smartphone device with product labels.
  • Strong addition and multiplication skills.
  • Ability to exchange information with coworkers and work as part of a team.
  • Ability to use a smartphone device continuously during a shift.
  • Ability to repetitively lift 10+ lbs and occasionally lift up to 60 lbs.
  • Ability to be on feet continuously throughout an 8-10 hour shift.
  • Ability to occasionally bend 90 degrees and twist 45 degrees.
  • Must be able to operate motorized equipment and all forklift types safely.
  • Must be able to understand and follow verbal and written instructions provided by ECM training lead, department lead, and department supervisor.
  • Ability to work voluntary or mandatory overtime as business dictates.
