Product Owner

This role is responsible for managing product backlogs and review iteration outcomes to ensure the business success of software development projects. The Product Owner will serve as the enterprise subject matter expert, managing relationships across the enterprise for internal, external, and third-party vendors, and providing support to the Client, verifying the business value delivered by the Product and how it aligns with the Client's strategy.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide enterprise-level knowledge of impact across products and platforms, presenting data to client and executive-level leadership.
- Work closely with the Client to define the next iterations of the Product and plan their releases, presenting the Team's perspective and point of view to the Client, and building trust between the two sides.
- Evaluate KPI metrics and suggest new solutions to increase the Product's business value, verifying the business value delivered by the Product and how it aligns with the Client's strategy.
- Provide strategic focus for the development team, ensuring the right things are focused on and completed during the development process, organizing workshops with the Product's users to discover and validate hypotheses, and working with architecture to develop the best solutions for the Product.
- Use dedicated techniques for road mapping and selected tools to describe the Product vision.
- Provide inputs for application technical designs and data models to deliver user-friendly product solutions.
- Contribute to the design of UX workflows for the product.
- Guide and mentor the Product community in business domain knowledge and product owner practice.
- Manage the 3rd-party vendor relationship, participating in negotiation and contractual agreements.
- Work with Product Management to solicit architectural guidance to ensure BU compliance with future 360 Platform product direction.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer and Information Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or foreign equivalent, or suitable combination of education, experience, and training, &/or military equivalent; Plus 5 or more years of experience acting as a Product Owner and/or certification in Agile fundamentals.
OR Master's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, or related field, or foreign equivalent; Plus 3 years of experience in Engineering & Technology.
Skills & Abilities:Knowledge of Agile process and principles AND/OR demonstration of the following skills and abilities through education, certifications, military, or other experiences:
- Knows and embodies Scrum values.
- Understands Product Owner involvement in Scrum events.
- Experience drafting and elaborating backlog items.
- Understanding or experience with contractual agreements & vendor management.
- Knowledge of high-level architecture and impacts.
