Key Responsibilities

  • As a Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician (CCHT), you will apply your technical and analytical skills on a daily basis.
  • Your primary duty will be to conduct and oversee dialysis treatments under the guidance of a Registered Nurse.

Team Collaboration

This role requires effective teamwork and collaboration with the healthcare team, as well as maintaining strong communication and relationships with clients.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Nationally recognized Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician certification (CCHT) or equivalent
  • Current CPR certification
  • Minimum of one year of clinical dialysis experience within the last two years

Skills and Competencies

  • Proficient in reading, writing, and communicating effectively in English.
  • Strong technical skills with various software applications including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Essential Duties

  • Understand basic renal function and the implications of renal failure.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of treatment options available for ESRD patients.
  • Perform hemodialysis procedures in accordance with company policies.
  • Complete safety checks prior to initiating dialysis.
  • Monitor and document treatment parameters, including vital signs and weight changes, and communicate findings to licensed personnel.
  • Adhere to sterile techniques and infection control protocols.
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Educate patients about their conditions and treatment options.
  • Collect blood samples and perform routine tests as required.
  • Administer oxygen as directed by nursing staff.
  • Engage in CPR as necessary.
  • Maintain cleanliness of machines and treatment areas post-treatment.
  • Prepare daily logs and setups for patient shifts as directed.
  • Manage laboratory reports and supply inventory as needed.
  • Contribute to a safe and efficient unit operation.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and training.
  • Foster a culture of safety and quality within the facility.
  • Ensure confidentiality of patient and company information.
  • Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Supervision

This position reports to the Unit Leader.

Work Environment

This role is situated in a medical facility, which may involve exposure to chemicals and blood-borne pathogens, and requires the use of medical and standard office equipment.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands of this position include the ability to communicate effectively, stand, walk, and lift up to 50 pounds. This role may require working extended hours based on patient needs.
