Job Title: Senior Accountant - Healthcare Finance

Job Summary:

This is an exciting opportunity to advance a career in healthcare finance at a Best in KLAS value-based care enabler. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for completing a range of financial operations activities, including managing the monthly closing process, preparing and posting journal entries, maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records, and ensuring compliance with corporate policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the monthly closing process, including tracking accruals, analyzing account activity, reconciling account balances, and validating financial reports.
  • Prepare and post required journal entries to record business activity accurately and complete other month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in QuickBooks.
  • Ensure that processes are completed in accordance with corporate schedules and that all submissions follow corporate policies.
  • Monitor internal controls and escalate compliance issues or concerns as appropriate.
  • Reconcile accounts, including the proper allocation of expenses across various departments and functional areas.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial data.
  • Develop and implement best practices and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations and reporting.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements in financial reporting and accounting operations.
  • Support external auditors, advisors, and other potential stakeholders in testing and demonstrating the accuracy and robustness of accounting processes and internal controls.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in an accounting or finance role, with a focus on financial reporting, monthly close, and journal entries within a medium to large company.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks or other ERP systems (ie: Netsuite, Oracle, Sage).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in the healthcare industry or a similar field a plus.
  • CPA certification or progress towards certification strongly desired.
  • Experience in a start-up or high growth company a plus.
  • Prior experience working in a public accounting firm a plus.
  • Experience with process improvement initiatives and project management.
Additional Information:

The salary range for this role is between $80,000.00 to $85,000.00 per year. The listed compensation range is paid bi-weekly per our standard payroll practices. Final base pay decisions are dependent upon a variety of factors which may include, but are not limited to: skill set, years of relevant experience, education, location, and licensure/certifications.
