The Advanced Practice Provider offers medical services in accordance with the guidelines established by the supervising physician.

Typically, these practitioners cater to patients in pediatric clinics, focusing on their unique healthcare needs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE

  • Conducts thorough assessments of patients' physical and mental health through comprehensive examinations and medical history reviews.
  • Orders and interprets laboratory tests and diagnostic procedures to evaluate patient health and identify care requirements.
  • Prescribes and manages medical therapies and treatments in line with established protocols, prioritizing efficacy, safety, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Advises on lifestyle modifications to mitigate health risks.
  • Develops and implements patient-centered treatment plans based on assessments, evidence-based practices, and collaboration with healthcare team members.
  • Monitors and evaluates patient responses to treatments and overall care effectiveness.
  • Provides counseling to patients and families on medical processes, health management, nutrition, and wellness promotion.
  • Educates patients on medication regimens, potential side effects, and interactions with other substances.
  • Maintains detailed records of patient treatment plans and outcomes, ensuring timely referrals when necessary.
  • Offers specialized consultation services related to the provider's area of expertise.
  • Performs designated procedures as permitted by the supervising physician.
  • May manage a patient panel in a collaborative model, focusing on both acute and chronic health issues.

KEY SUCCESS FACTORS

  • Comprehensive knowledge of diagnostic and treatment methodologies for various health conditions.
  • Familiarity with practices for the rehabilitation of physical and mental health issues.

  • Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of employment.

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM; potential for 4-day workweeks
  • Outpatient Care Only
  • On-call: 1 week every 8 weeks
  • Experience in pediatric clinics preferred

QUALIFICATIONS

  • EDUCATION - Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
  • EXPERIENCE - Less than 1 year of relevant experience

Basic Life Support (BLS): BLS certification or BLS within 30 days of hire.
