Kaiser Permanente is seeking a highly skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Assist surgeons during surgical procedures, maintaining aseptic conditions and adhering to established policies and procedures.
- Prepare and organize the operating room, selecting and passing instruments as directed.
- Assist with patient care during and after surgery, including positioning and draping the patient.
- Provide proper retraction of tissue and assist in controlling hemostasis.
- Assist with sponging, suctioning, and performing sponge, needle/sharp, and instrument counts.
- Prepare suture for closure of surgical incision and apply proper surgical dressing as directed.
- Recognize and respond to acute emergency situations, following established procedures and policies.
- Anticipate the needs of surgeons and maintain a clean and organized operating room.
- One year of operating room or military equivalent experience in a scrub role within the last two years or recent completion of an operating room training program.
- Surgical Technologist Certificate within six months of hire from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting or National Center for Competency Testing Certificate - Technologist in Surgery within six months of hire.
- Basic Life Support certification.
- Ability to scrub all types of surgical cases except open heart.
