Position Overview
This role is being filled under the DoD Modified Direct Hire Authority. As a Lead Interdisciplinary Computer Engineer/Scientist at the GS-0854/0855/1515 level, your responsibilities will encompass a variety of critical tasks.

Key Responsibilities
1. Assess products to ensure they align with the Joint Information Environment (JIE) and its transition to Network Centric Enterprise Services (NCES), Global Information Grid (GIG), and other DoD-approved architectures.
2. Spearhead initiatives to demonstrate interoperability among selected systems and programs prior to their deployment or further development within the acquisition framework.
3. Oversee compliance with DoD mandates regarding compatibility, interoperability, and integration, focusing on strategic C4ISR Battle Management interoperability demonstration planning and engineering.
4. Serve as the authoritative expert in Information Technology (IT) and Information Warfare (IW), guiding the U.S. Warfighters in achieving interoperability.

Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Occasional travel may be required
- Full-time work schedule
- Must be registered for Selective Service if applicable
- Suitable for Federal employment, determined by a background investigation
- May require successful completion of a probationary period
- Overtime may be necessary on occasion

Qualifications
To qualify at the GS-15 level, candidates must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level in the Federal service, including:
- Ensuring technical capabilities are engineered as interoperable components of the DoD Joint Command and Control System-of-Systems Architecture.
- Leading the evaluation of products for technical consistency with JIE and related architectures.
- Planning and overseeing test projects, including personnel assignments and resource allocation.
- Implementing the Defense Research Engineering Network architecture and standards.

Education
Applicants must have a degree in engineering or a related field, with specific coursework in mathematics and science. Professional registration or licensure as an Engineer Intern (EI) or Professional Engineer (PE) is preferred.

Additional Information
This position may be eligible for telework and requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Special Sensitive (Top Secret/SCI) security clearance. Continuous Learning Points (CLPs) are required every two years as part of professional development.
