Job Overview:
Part-Time Radiologic Technologist Position
The role requires 24 hours of work per week, specifically on Mondays, Fridays, and alternating weekends from 3:30 PM to 12:00 AM.
Compensation:
Starting pay ranges from $34.00 to $42.00, commensurate with experience.
Position Summary:
The Radiologic Technologist is responsible for delivering high-quality radiologic care to patients, facilitating the diagnosis and treatment of various anatomical and physiological conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Review and confirm requests for x-ray examinations, including any special instructions.
2. Provide a warm and welcoming environment for patients and their families, ensuring clear communication about procedures and obtaining necessary consent.
3. Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
4. Execute radiographic procedures with proficiency in the operation of x-ray machinery, including fluoroscopy and overhead systems.
5. Skillfully position patients to accurately demonstrate anatomical structures and landmarks.
6. Conduct visual inspections of equipment and report any malfunctions, ensuring proper warm-up of machines.
7. Prepare for specialized procedures such as myelograms, sialograms, and venograms.
8. Respond effectively to medical emergencies, demonstrating knowledge of emergency equipment and protocols.
9. Accurately document procedures and verify images prior to proceeding to subsequent tasks.
10. Ensure all necessary information is recorded on films and maintain compliance with ASRT certification and CT licensure requirements.
Qualifications:
1. Graduate from an AMA-accredited Radiologic Technology program.
2. Registration within one year of graduation and possession of a Connecticut State License is mandatory.
3. A minimum of two years of experience in X-Ray technology is preferred.
Licensure and Certification:
1. Connecticut Licensure in Radiologic Technology.
2. ARRT Registration in Radiologic Technology, with a commitment to maintaining continuing education credits.
Education:
1. High School Graduate or equivalent is essential.
