Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Speech Pathologist to provide essential diagnostic and therapeutic services. This role is crucial for assessing and treating individuals facing challenges in swallowing or communication due to various health conditions. The Speech Pathologist will also engage in interdisciplinary team discussions and assist in formulating policies aimed at preventing communication and swallowing difficulties.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Conducting thorough evaluations of residents' functional needs as referred by healthcare professionals.
  • Implementing treatment plans in accordance with physician directives and facility protocols, ensuring accurate documentation of care.
  • Collaborating with the Director of Nursing Services to develop and refine policies for communication and swallowing decline prevention.
  • Participating in discharge planning processes when necessary.
Qualifications

To excel in this role, candidates must possess:
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interpret medical information effectively.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify problems, gather relevant data, and draw informed conclusions.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, particularly Word and Excel.
  • A valid Speech Pathologist license.
