ROLE SUMMARY

The MDS Specialist supports the Director of MDS in the creation, completion, and submission of resident assessments in compliance with state regulations and the facility's policies and objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure all residents receive fair treatment, kindness, dignity, and respect, safeguarding their rights at all times.
  • Honor and protect residents' personal and property rights during all duties, including proper etiquette when entering a resident's room.
  • Adhere to all organizational and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Engage in the development and execution of initial and comprehensive resident assessments (MDS) and Care Plans in line with current regulations and guidelines, including the application of CAAs and Triggers.
  • Ensure that care plans incorporate measurable goals and timelines to address residents' medical, nursing, mental, and psychosocial needs, involving appropriate health professionals in the assessment process.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1-3 years of experience in direct patient/resident care, with a preference for prior MDS experience in a Skilled Nursing environment.
  • Nursing degree from an accredited institution or completion of an approved LVN program.
  • Possession of a current, unencumbered LVN license in California.
  • Valid CPR certification.
  • Understanding of clinical practice standards, regulations, and reimbursement policies governing long-term care and Medicare participation.

Salary Range: Starting at $40.00/hr for LVNs

*The salary range reflects what Royal Gardens Healthcare reasonably expects to offer for this position. Actual compensation will be determined based on various factors such as experience, education, and qualifications.
