About the Role
">We are seeking an experienced Welding Inspector to join our team. As a Welding Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of welds on pipelines, transmission lines, stations, and plants.
">Main Responsibilities:
">- Maintain company's quality control standards and enforce contract specifications, welding procedures, and qualifications.
- Assist the quality control staff with welding procedure problems.
- Maintain communication with contractor's representative to ensure welding procedures are being met.
- Review radiographic film results.
- Evaluate the qualification of procedures to ensure compliance with project requirements and materials used.
- Ensure that welds meet the highest quality standards in relation to codes, standards, and company specifications.
- Verify that welder's identification/stencil is properly placed adjacent to the weld according to specifications.
- Ensure all welding inspectors are qualified to all procedures accordingly.
- Oversee the repair or replacement of rejected welds in accordance with company specifications.
- Ensure proper documentation for Material Transfer Records, As-Builds, Red Lines, Tie-Ins, Fabrication, etc.
- Provide welding documentation reports to Senior Welding Inspector.
- Notify Senior Welding Inspector of environmental issues.
- Document assigned activities and forward to Senior Welding Inspector for review.
- Advise Senior Welding Inspector of ongoing work and required extra work by contractor.
- Adhere to and enforce safety policies, including Federal Regulations, Codes, OSHA Standards, and DOT Compliances.
- Perform all activities in a safe and professional manner.
Requirements
">- Successful completion of API 1104 ASME 31.8-31.4 welding tests/procedures.
- CWI certification.
- Qualified radiographic film interpreter.
- Knowledge of Federal Regulations, Codes, OSHA Standards, and DOT Compliances.
- Familiarity with pipeline welding codes and specifications; knowledge of company contract specifications, applicable codes and standards, and inspection equipment necessary to perform tasks.
- Previous quality control experience on construction projects, including transmission pipelines, stations, and plants.
- Ability to obtain and transfer documentation to/from Material Transfer Records, As-Builds, Red Lines, Tie-Ins, Fabrication, etc.
- Working knowledge of Client/Contractor Blueprints, Piping & Instrumental Drawings, and other company policies and procedures.
- Professional oral and written communication skills.
