Job Summary:

UCHealth is seeking a highly skilled Urology Technician to join our team. As a Urology Technician, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to our urology team. You will work closely with our healthcare professionals to ensure that patients receive the best possible care.

Responsibilities:

• Obtain patient history and vital signs
• Explain procedures and document care
• Communicate findings with RN and Physician
• Assist with urologic radiographic and ultrasound examinations and cystoscopies
• Perform UDS studies with Provider present
• Assist with minor surgical procedures
• Perform urinary catheter insertions and removals
• Perform laboratory duties
• Assist with simple dressing changes
• Communicate prescription refill requests to Physician and call in refills to pharmacy
• Perform delegated clinical tasks with a written provider order
• Collect or prepare specimens
• Administer medications and injections per practice-specific guidelines
• Send specimens to testing laboratory
• Communicate abnormal results to providers
• Clean and restock rooms, supplies and equipment
• Transport patients

Requirements:

• Basic Life Support
• Completion of a Medical Assistant program through an accredited school or documentation of a medical program that meets the criteria of a medical assistant program such as military prepared corpsman or medic
• Trained in urological procedures through vocational or post-hire on-the-job physician training
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider
• Relevant certification as determined at position level
• Minimum Experience: 1 year of healthcare related experience
