About the Role

Ranken Technical College is seeking a qualified Industrial Technology Instructor to join our team. As an adjunct professor, you will be responsible for teaching Industrial Technology courses and conducting labs as assigned by the department chair.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach assigned theory and lab classes, planning daily activities for students in theory and lab, and supervising students for both theory and technical project grades.
  • Instruct and evaluate students in a live work setting who are performing industrial maintenance, including instruction in shop safety.
  • Maintain a safe worksite and enforce Ranken's safety standards.
  • Assist in the maintenance of lab and classroom equipment.
  • Collaborate with management to develop curriculum and syllabi, schedule classes, manage budgets, and perform other duties as assigned.
  • Participate in college governance, committee work, student advising, and other activities.
  • Stay current in Industrial Technology by participating in available training and maintaining industry standards.
Requirements
  • AS or BS degree in Industrial Technology or a related engineering field.
  • Three years or more of industrial technology experience.
  • Community college or technical school teaching experience is preferred.
  • Excellent presentation skills, including strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to motivate students of diverse backgrounds and learning styles.
  • Ability to assemble, repair, and troubleshoot hydraulic circuits.
  • Ability to read and interpret hydraulic schematics and drawings.
  • Mechanical aptitude and experience with mechanical repairs on industrial equipment.
  • Basic ability to maintain motor control circuits, control relays, motor starters, VFDs, and PLCs.
  • EPA certification is preferred.
