Senior Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sr. Nurse Practitioner to join our team in the Department of Surgery, Division of Vascular Surgery at Johns Hopkins University. As a key member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate patient health status through diagnostic procedures and tests, and provide therapeutic patient care under the direction of a physician.
- Interview patients and compile medical histories to assist in determining health status.
- Perform physical examinations, obtain specimens, and run routine laboratory tests and procedures.
- Analyze and evaluate patient history, physical examination findings, and laboratory values to make preliminary diagnoses.
- Develop care and treatment plans for patients according to established protocols and procedures.
- Collaborate with supervisory physicians and other professionals to implement treatment plans.
- May perform procedures such as starting I.V. lines, applying plaster casts, and assisting with surgical procedures.
- Provide education and guidance to patients and family members on maintaining good health, disease prevention, and home care.
- Attend continuing education programs to stay current on procedures and health care plans and protocols.
- Master's Degree in nursing and Registered Nurse license.
- Certification as a Nurse Practitioner and licensure in the State of Maryland or other state where practicing.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a related clinical area and proficiency in the area of specialty.
- Residency or fellowship programs in the area of specialization may substitute for some experience.
