Job Title: Geotechnical Engineer

Cash Waggner & Associates is seeking a highly skilled Geotechnical Engineer to join our team. As a Geotechnical Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing and constructing geotechnical structures, including foundations, retaining walls, earth dams, and geosynthetics.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop geotechnical structures, including foundations, retaining walls, and earth dams, using computer-aided design (CAD) software and geotechnical engineering principles.
  • Assess the properties and behavior of soil, rock, and other earth materials to support the safe and efficient design, construction, and maintenance of infrastructure projects.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders, including civil engineers, structural engineers, architects, and construction managers, to ensure that engineering requirements are met.
  • Manage and direct field crew activities, and provide guidance to project stakeholders on engineering requirements.
  • Use design software and drawing tools to accurately render and communicate designs, and plan projects based on relevant materials, including drawings, blueprints, aerial photography, survey reports, maps, and geologic and topographical data.
  • Draft and present reports on topics related to projects, including environmental impact statements and right-of-way descriptions.
  • Estimate materials, equipment, and labor needed to determine project costs, and monitor project progress to ensure that design specifications, safety, and sanitation standards are met.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, with an emphasis on Soils Mechanics, Foundations, Geotechnical Engineering, and Civil Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer licensure or ability to become licensed.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and ability to identify and solve complex problems.
  • Proficient in computer-assisted design (CAD) and other design, data recording, and analysis software.
  • Thorough understanding of geotechnical engineering principles, practices, and tools, and ability to work in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in geotechnical engineering, with a focus on design and construction.
  • Knowledge of geotechnical software, including CAD and geotechnical analysis tools.
  • Ability to travel to project sites, and work in a fast-paced environment.
