Job Summary:

Burke Rehabilitation Hospital is seeking a per diem Recreational Therapist (CTRS Required) to join its dynamic Therapeutic Recreation Department. As a key member of the therapy team, the successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the hospital's mission of providing exceptional rehabilitation services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct initial evaluations and develop treatment plans for patients with neurological, cardiac, pulmonary, orthopedic, and amputee diagnoses.
• Deliver individual and group therapy sessions to promote patient engagement and rehabilitation outcomes.
• Collaborate with the therapy team to ensure seamless patient care and achieve optimal rehabilitation results.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families to promote independence and self-care.
• Maintain accurate records and reports to ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

• Current certification as a Recreational Therapist (CTRS) required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association required at the time of hire.

Work Schedule:

The per diem Recreational Therapist will be required to work one to two Sundays per month for 5 to 6 hours, as well as provide coverage during vacations as available.
