Position Summary:
The Field Service Technician is responsible for performing semi-skilled tasks related to the installation, maintenance, and repair of valves, meters, gauges, pumps, and other equipment utilized in water distribution and wastewater collection systems. This role involves the use of hand and power tools, as well as the operation and routine maintenance of vehicles and equipment, including trucks and excavation machinery, in accordance with established company procedures and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct installation, maintenance, and repair of water distribution and wastewater collection systems.
  • Operate and maintain various vehicles and equipment, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.
  • Load and unload equipment, chemicals, and supplies at work sites.
  • Assist in the operation of medium construction equipment under the guidance of a qualified operator.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols to maintain a secure working environment.
  • Perform groundskeeping and custodial tasks as assigned.
  • Document work activities and update records, including closing work orders as necessary.
  • Assist with additional tasks or projects as directed.

Qualifications:
Applicants should possess a high school diploma or GED. While prior experience is not mandatory, mechanical and/or electrical knowledge is advantageous. A valid U.S. driver's license is required, and a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) must be obtained within 90 days of employment.

  • Proficiency in computer applications, including the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and colleagues.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Team-oriented mindset, capable of working effectively in a collaborative environment.

Working Conditions:
This position may involve exposure to extreme temperatures, noise, and various environmental conditions, including mechanical and electrical hazards. The ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs is required. Travel to various work sites may be necessary, and on-call duties may be part of the schedule.
