Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough inspections of bridges to identify potential defects and hazards
  • Develop and implement inspection plans to ensure comprehensive coverage of bridge structures
  • Collaborate with project managers and team leaders to prioritize inspection activities and allocate resources effectively
  • Analyze inspection data to identify trends and areas for improvement
  • Develop and maintain accurate and detailed inspection reports
  • Communicate inspection findings and recommendations to stakeholders, including project managers, engineers, and clients
  • Participate in training and professional development to stay up-to-date on industry best practices and technologies
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in bridge inspection or related field
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred
  • Strong understanding of structural analysis and design principles
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Proficiency in MicroStation and/or AutoCAD
  • Experience with structural analysis and design software, such as LARSA, LeapBridge, and STAAD
Preferred Qualifications
  • Completed the bridge inspection basic course (within Pennsylvania preferred)
  • Experience in use of MicroStation and/or AutoCAD
  • Use and understanding of structural analysis and design software, such as LARSA, LeapBridge, and STAAD
  • Ability to work in adverse weather conditions, operate inspection access equipment, carry ladders, work alongside highways and/or railroads
