Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Fiber Splicer II to join our team at Kanaan Communications, LLC. As a Fiber Splicer II, you will play a critical role in connecting America by splicing and connecting underground fiber optic drop cabling related to a FTTH network deployment.

• Splice and connect underground fiber optic drop cabling related to a FTTH network deployment
• Minor hand digging to locate buried splice enclosures
• Use provided maps to locate vaults, splice enclosures, and other points of interest within the fiber network
• Operate or work around heavy equipment and machinery
• Work in congested or remote areas
• Maintain visual and audible contact with other crew members and all moving or stationary persons/vehicles/objects to ensure safe coordination of movement
• Perform general construction work under the direction of a Foreman/Supervisor
• Maintain safe working habits/conditions according to all regulations, procedures, and policies

• At least 18 years old
• Authorized to work in the United States for this company
• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Valid standard driver's license with a minimum of 2 years driving experience
• Experience with mechanical or fusion splicing techniques, including stripping, cleaning, and cleaving of fiber optic cables
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Ability to work overtime, after hours, on weekends, for emergencies, or on-call
• Stand, crouch, sit, bend, balance, climb, crawl, lift, hold, or stoop while on shift
• Experience working in adverse weather conditions such as extreme heat, cold temperatures, wind, rain, snow, sleet, and dust
• Experience driving on wet or icy roads and in the fog
• Able to lift, climb, and carry weight of up to 80lbs
