About the Role:

A reputable general contracting firm on the West Coast is in search of a dedicated and skilled Estimator to contribute significantly to their project achievements. In this capacity, you will be tasked with delivering precise and prompt cost assessments for construction initiatives across the San Diego region. Your collaboration with project managers, architects, subcontractors, and engineers will be essential to ensure that estimates are in line with project objectives and financial plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop detailed and competitive cost estimates for construction projects, employing industry-standard estimating software.
  2. Examine project documentation, including plans, specifications, and blueprints, to thoroughly understand project scope and requirements.
  3. Work alongside project teams to ensure that estimates align with project objectives and address potential obstacles.
  4. Source and assess quotes from subcontractors and suppliers to secure the best pricing.
  5. Monitor and manage project budgets throughout the construction process.
  6. Build and sustain strong professional relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors in the San Diego area.

Qualifications:

  1. At least 8 years of experience in construction estimating, demonstrating a successful track record in the San Diego market.
  2. In-depth knowledge of construction materials, techniques, and industry standards.
  3. Proficient in construction estimating software.
  4. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
  5. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  6. Capability to work independently and manage multiple projects concurrently.
