Job SummaryWe are looking for a seasoned tax professional with expertise in current professional tax practices and excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with clients and staff throughout all phases of tax engagements.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and Review Tax Returns: Complete moderately complex federal, state, local, and special tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, trusts, and estates independently and with minimal direction.
- Compliance and Communication: Comply with federal, state, and local requirements and communicate with partners, staff, and clients to ensure timely and accurate tax reporting.
- Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare and/or review financial statements, reports, and records by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Professional Development: Maintain professional standards and technical knowledge through workshops, seminars, publications, personal networks, and/or professional societies. Remain current on general economic and political trends of possible tax or other legislation impacting the business climate.
- Client Relationship Building: Contribute to the overall success of the firm and staff by promoting efficient execution throughout the engagement while cultivating positive client relationships.
- Research and Support: Research issues and respond to client and staff questions in a simple, understandable fashion.
- Client Management: Manage multiple client requests in an efficient and timely manner.
- Education and Experience: Possess a bachelor's degree in accounting and a minimum of three to five years of public accounting experience in tax.
- Professional Certifications: CPA designation is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Possess technology skills which contribute to the completion of assignments.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Display the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing to clients & staff in a respectful and professional manner.
- Leadership and Teamwork: Contribute to skill building among interns and newer staff.
- Time Management and Analytical Skills: Demonstrate ownership of work assigned and take the initiative to complete the work assigned. Work under time constraints. Display analytical skills with an orientation to focus on details and accuracy.
- Software Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Attendance and Reliability: Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
