At Waste Management, Inc., we are seeking a skilled Waste Management Mechanic Specialist to join our team. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong technical skills and attention to detail.

About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced mechanic with expertise in electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing repairs and assigned preventive maintenance services on our vehicles, conducting safety checks, and utilizing vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform repairs and assigned preventive maintenance services on vehicles, including routine maintenance and major overhauls
  • Conduct thorough inspections of electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems to identify potential issues
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical problems using advanced diagnostic tools and techniques
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with industry standards and company policies
  • Work safely and efficiently, minimizing downtime and ensuring high-quality results

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
  • 5+ years of experience as a heavy equipment mechanic, with expertise in electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems
  • ASE certifications in multiple areas, such as brakes, suspension, and steering
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with others
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent changes in priorities and deadlines
