Electrical Engineer Job Summary

Halff is seeking a highly skilled Licensed Electrical Engineer to join our team. As an Electrical Engineer at Halff, you will be responsible for planning and preparing engineered contract documentation for assigned projects. You will work with or as an electrical Project Manager to meet deadlines, aid in or provide engineering decisions, and collaborate with other engineers, architects, and/or owners.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for multiple projects which may consist of performing and scheduling work, materials, manpower, and information to ensure attainment of scope/project performance and construction schedules.
  • Creating electrical project construction documents, plans, specifications, design analyses, and cost estimates for robust and reliable electrical/lighting system designs.
  • Responsible for on-site visits as necessary to collect existing condition information, attend meetings, respond to construction inquiries, and report on-site observations.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining client relationships.
  • Help mentor and develop the skills of junior electrical designers and engineers.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Must be a licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Texas or have the ability through NCEES to be licensed in Texas and other states.
  • 5-10 years of experience in engineering, designing, and producing lighting, lighting control, power distribution, and branch circuiting for Commercial, Industrial, and Institutional projects.
  • Experienced in lighting/lighting control, power design, and distribution of normal and emergency power systems.
  • Knowledge of the NEC, IECC, ASHRAE 90.1, and associated NFPA standards.
  • Familiarity with SKM Systems Analysis or ETAP software.
  • High-level interpersonal relationship skills, proficiency in communication skills, and organization skills.
