Job Summary

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our team at Cornell University. The successful candidate will work with minimal guidance to provide electronic hardware designs for all departments within the CLASSE organization.

This is a unique opportunity to work on complex electronic systems, design instrumentation, system control, equipment protection, power conversion, and data acquisition. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in digital and analog electronics design, with experience in low-level FPGA programming and simulations.

The Electrical Engineer will be part of a dedicated team of engineers and technicians, working collaboratively to design, produce, and maintain electronic control and power systems for the operation of all accelerators at the Wilson Lab complex.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related field, and a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in designing and implementing state-of-the-art electronic systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design electronic hardware and software systems for research applications
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement electronic systems
  • Perform maintenance and troubleshooting of existing electronic equipment
  • Oversee projects from concept to manufacture to installation
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related field
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in designing and implementing electronic systems
  • Strong background in digital and analog electronics design
  • Experience with low-level FPGA programming and simulations
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
