UPMC is seeking a skilled Pharmacy Technician to provide pharmaceutical care to patients within the UPMC Health System. This role involves assisting with medication preparation, filling, and distribution, as well as maintaining accurate records and complying with regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:- Filling: Assist in filling medication orders through correct labeling, counting, and stocking practices.
- Preparation: Prepare oral and injectable medications, including intravenous admixtures and TPN, for the correct patient at the appropriate time.
- Distribution: Participate in the distribution of medication, including medication cassettes and emergency medication carts, and deliver controlled substances per department policy and state and federal requirements.
- General: Maintain accurate records for controlled substances, ensure compliance with Federal, State, and Department Regulations, and maintain all pertinent documentation.
- Completion of high school diploma or equivalent required.
- One of the following: completion of an accredited pharmacy technician program, six months of previous pharmacy technician experience, six months experience as a Pharmacy Assistant within the UPMC Health System, or enrollment in a college program and in good standing.
