We are seeking a highly skilled Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team at The GEO Group. As a Counselor, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality mental health services to our clients.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' substance abuse history and treatment requirements
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address clients' needs
- Present individual counseling and group lectures on topics such as relapse prevention, anger management, and life skills
- Facilitate psycho-educational and behavior modification groups using evidence-based principles
- Document clients' progress and maintain accurate clinical records
- Bachelor's degree in a social science or related field, or equivalent experience
- At least 6 months of professional experience in chemical addiction counseling and/or mental health counseling
- Ability to work with a team of professionals and implement team strategy approaches
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
