The Department of Computer Science at Binghamton University is seeking a full-time Lecturer to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the Computer Science program. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching required and elective courses, serving as a course coordinator, and participating in student assessment activities.
Key Responsibilities- Teach a range of undergraduate and graduate courses in the Computer Science program, including laboratory and lecture settings.
- Serve as a course coordinator, managing course electronic resources, communicating with students, and coordinating with other instructors.
- Participate in student assessment activities to ensure academic excellence.
- Supervise and guide undergraduate course assistants and/or graduate teaching assistants as needed.
- Collaborate with faculty course instructors to improve the teaching program.
- Design and implement effective teaching/learning processes.
- Participate in education workshops and conferences to stay current in the field.
- Provide service to the department through accreditation activities, such as ABET, and other projects as required.
- A Master's degree in Computer Science is required by the appointment date.
- A Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related field is preferred, with demonstrated teaching experience within a Computer Science Department.
- Prior experience with accreditation activities is also preferred.
