Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Technician to join our team at PlayCore. The successful candidate will work directly with the Engineering & Production Department to support our manufacturing facility. This is a full-time position that requires a strong background in automation equipment and programmable controllers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program, troubleshoot, and repair malfunctions with welding robots, CNC water jet, PLC controlled equipment, CNC routers, CNC mills, and machining centers.
  • Ensure automated systems and equipment are serviced, programmed, adjusted, calibrated, and maintained.
  • Design, fabricate, install, test, modify, and troubleshoot electronic and control systems.
  • Work with the Engineering Department to program CNC Water Jet to CAD specifications and perform preventative maintenance.
  • Perform maintenance and troubleshoot errors on CNC Mills and Machining Centers.
  • Understand company welding robot programming techniques and be current with industry standards.
  • Set up, troubleshoot, and maintain Welding Robots as well as implement new technologies and features.
  • Install, troubleshoot, update, and program electronic safety equipment.
  • Work with the Engineering Department to program CNC Routers to product specifications and perform preventative maintenance.
  • Read and interpret CAD drawings and specifications.
  • Apply strong mechanical/electronic aptitude when responding to maintenance requests.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate preferred.
  • At least 3-5 years experience working with automation equipment and programmable controllers or in lieu of 3-5 years experience will consider Electronics Degree/Certification or Military Electronics/Electrical Technician Training.
  • Knowledgeable and experienced with industrial control hardware and communication systems - PLC's.
  • Must be able to apply mathematical concepts such as, fundamentals of fractions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • General Maintenance Experience a plus.
