Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Care Practitioner to join our Internal Traveler Program. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work in various settings across the CHKDHS, providing specialized and routine clinical therapies to the neonatal and pediatric population.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess patient condition and develop individualized respiratory care plans
  • Administer diagnostic tests and procedures, including blood gas sampling and interpretation
  • Respond to respiratory emergencies and maintain artificial airways
  • Initiate patient and caregiver teaching, and complete necessary documentation
Requirements
  • Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care
  • American Heart Association (AHA) certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) certification in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
  • 2 years of pediatric experience, including experience in the PICU and/or NICU
Working Conditions

Expected to work in a patient care environment with minimal exposure to environmental hazards. Exposure to communicable diseases and moderately adverse working conditions can be expected.
