The ideal candidate will exhibit technical expertise in both copper and fiber installations, serving as a pivotal member of our technical team. The Technician II will assist in supervising small groups of installers, ensuring compliance with company safety protocols and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Installation of copper and fiber optic cabling, including overhead support systems such as j-hooks, cable trays, and ladder racks, along with necessary firestop and sleeve installations.
  2. Efficient routing and bundling of cables through modular furniture and cable management systems, including wall fishing techniques.
  3. Installation of work area outlets, including wall plates and floor boxes, while organizing cables and implementing service loops and labeling.
  4. Construction of IT closets, which involves mounting backboards, equipment racks, and fiber optic enclosures, along with ensuring proper grounding for all equipment.
  5. Familiarity with ESC and industry labeling standards.
  6. Proficient in copper cable testing processes and troubleshooting as necessary.
  7. Installation of low-voltage devices, including wireless access points and speakers.
  8. Identification of active voice and data circuits.
  9. General knowledge of fiber optic installation, termination, and testing procedures.
  10. Ability to read and interpret blueprints accurately.
  11. Support the Project Manager and Lead Technician in managing crew performance and providing onsite training.
  12. Maintain accurate job-related documentation, including material transfers and work orders, in a timely manner.
  13. Complete all personal documentation, including digital processes, accurately and punctually.
  14. Adhere to all safety and quality standards set by ESC and the industry.
  15. Promote safety and professionalism within the company and to clients.
  16. Other duties as assigned.
  17. Willingness to travel as required.

Qualifications:
* Self-motivated and professional, with a focus on process improvement.
* Ability to represent the company effectively to clients and stakeholders.
* Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with effective communication abilities.
* Capability to work at heights and in confined spaces, with physical strength to lift and move equipment.
* Must possess a high school diploma or GED equivalency.
* Minimum of two years of experience in telecommunications or a related field, with supervisory experience.
* Proficiency with required tools and ability to interpret project documents.
* Knowledge of universal communications color codes.
* Must meet company driving standards.
