Position Overview: Environmental Chemical Co Inc is looking for a dedicated Junior Geoscientist to join our team. This role involves a combination of office and fieldwork, primarily focusing on the planning, coordination, and execution of scientific and environmental services related to environmental remediation and hazardous waste management projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Project Manager and other team members to ensure effective planning and coordination of tasks and deliverables within the approved budget and timeline.
  • Select and implement suitable environmental technologies and solutions to effectively remediate contaminants and achieve project goals.
  • Prepare, review, and submit project documentation, including pre-construction plans, design documents, and analytical reports, ensuring compliance with budgetary constraints.
  • Adhere to industry standards and regulatory codes while applying selected technologies in project execution.
  • Identify and communicate potential technical and operational risks to the Project Manager.
  • Assist in the procurement process by authoring RFQs and selecting qualified subcontractors and consultants.
  • Conduct field inspections and reviews to ensure compliance with project plans and specifications.
  • Ensure that all necessary testing is performed by qualified personnel using calibrated equipment.
  • Document and evaluate project results, making necessary adjustments to procedures as required.
  • Maintain accurate records of field reports, logs, and meeting minutes in a timely manner.
  • Propose solutions to field changes and resolve any issues related to quality and technology.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational abilities and experience in leading teams.
  • Proficient in reviewing and inspecting work for adherence to technical plans.
  • Knowledge of scientific standards and regulatory codes relevant to environmental practices.
  • Experience in engaging effectively with subcontractors.
  • Ability to mentor team members and share knowledge.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
  • A minimum of four years of experience in environmental remediation or hazardous waste management projects.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Geological Engineering, or a related field is required.

Travel Requirements: Willingness to travel as needed, typically less than 50% of the time.
