Job Summary
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) plays a vital role in the care and well-being of our residents. As a member of our team, you will assist residents in all aspects of their daily life, including personal care, food service, housekeeping, laundry, behavior management, socialization, activities, orientation, and information needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist residents with personal care, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Provide food service, including meal preparation and serving
- Perform housekeeping and laundry duties
- Manage resident behavior and provide socialization opportunities
- Participate in activities and orientation programs
- Meet the information needs of residents and their families
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Basic reading and writing skills, and ability to speak English in an understandable manner
- Knowledge and experience in working with elderly; previous dementia experience preferred
- CNA/CHHA Certification required in NJ; must successfully complete required training
Physical Demands
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and squat for prolonged periods
- Ability to push and pull objects and lift and carry up to 50 pounds, unassisted, on a frequent basis
- Full use of hands, arms, and legs (for washing, bathing, dressing, writing, cleaning)
- Ability to read thermometers, charts, and testing equipment and operate clothes washers and dryers and kitchen appliances
