All of this is offered at a single site where we supply the necessary tools, personal protective equipment (PPE), and safety training required for the role.Key Responsibilities:
- Operate machinery and equipment or utilize hand tools to cut, shape, splice, and fit plastic materials into parts and assemblies.
- Interpret blueprints and schematics to assemble shell halves using a hand lay-up technique.
- Install fittings, gauge plates, man-ways, and other components and accessories.
- Cut and prepare composite materials from templates to assemble parts.
- Make minor adjustments or repairs to products as needed.
- Use equipment such as grinders, trimmers, measuring instruments, and rollers.
- Conduct periodic inspections of work to ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Accurately document information on process sheets and time cards in a timely manner.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Ensure equipment remains operational by performing preventive maintenance tasks.
- Engage in additional activities as necessary to support the production workflow.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma is preferred.
- General experience or prior work in a manufacturing or industrial setting is advantageous.
- Familiarity with spray guns is a significant plus.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings is beneficial.
- Proficient understanding of English, encompassing verbal, written, and reading skills.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn new tools and equipment.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail to identify material and product defects.
- Comfortable working in a fiberglass manufacturing environment.
- Capability to work at heights and in confined spaces when necessary.
- Flexibility to work variable hours, including overtime and weekends as required.
- Physical capability to lift 20-50 lbs., bend, crouch, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
Safety:
- Uphold a safe working environment by adhering to corporate safety policies and fostering a culture of safety.
- Ensure that equipment and processes operate efficiently and safely.
- Assist in the development of Hazard Analysis and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Collaborate with the employer to protect the health and safety of oneself and other workers at the work site.
