This role demands expertise in large-scale HVAC systems, refrigeration units, and chillers to support our operations effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine and urgent maintenance on commercial and industrial heating and cooling systems.
- Execute service on commercial refrigeration systems, including rack refrigeration.
- Perform maintenance tasks on heating and air conditioning equipment.
- Engage with the dispatcher to relay job details and progress.
- Provide professional customer interaction to address inquiries.
- Apply knowledge of local and federal regulations (such as NFPA 54, NFPA 31, EPA, and CSD1).
- Troubleshoot and repair all necessary equipment components.
- Review engineering schematics competently.
- Document the integrity of installations and components.
- Prepare detailed records and reports of service activities.
- Request necessary supplies and equipment.
- Understand the operation of standalone control systems.
- Utilize proper refrigeration practices and brazing techniques.
- Complete startup reports and EPA documentation accurately.
- Conduct thorough inspections of HVAC systems to identify potential issues and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Employ advanced troubleshooting methods to diagnose and resolve technical problems, minimizing downtime.
- Interpret technical documentation for precise installation and maintenance.
- Provide ongoing support to clients and internal teams, offering expert guidance.
- Maintain meticulous records of service activities, including maintenance schedules and client communications.
- Troubleshoot basic HVAC mechanical, electrical, and control issues.
- Offer on-the-job training to apprentices as needed.
- Timely completion of timecards, work orders, and purchase orders.
Required Competencies
- Self-motivated with a consistent work ethic.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt and function effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical capability to lift and carry equipment as necessary.
- Ability to work at heights, including climbing ladders.
Qualifications
- A minimum of ten years of relevant experience.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
- Universal EPA certification.
- Vermont Type S electrical license.
- Certifications in Natural Gas and LP Gas for Vermont and/or New Hampshire.
- NORA Silver oil certification for New Hampshire and/or Vermont.
- A valid driver's license.
