Position Summary: We are seeking a Staff Pharmacist to join our expanding team. The working hours are flexible, and the primary responsibility of the pharmacist will be to dispense medications. Please note that this role does not involve direct compounding of medications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Dispense prescribed medications and pharmaceuticals for patient care, without direct compounding responsibilities.
  • Review prescriptions from physicians or authorized prescribers to ensure accuracy and determine necessary formulas and ingredients.
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians in the mixing, packaging, and labeling of pharmaceuticals.
  • Maintain established procedures regarding quality assurance, security of controlled substances, and disposal of hazardous waste drugs.
  • Input data such as patient names, prescribed medications, and associated costs.
  • Assess medications to verify identity, purity, and strength.
  • Provide instruction to interns and other medical personnel on pharmacy-related matters.

Qualifications:

  • Doctorate Degree in Pharmacy required.
  • 1-2 years of experience as a pharmacist preferred but not mandatory.
  • Management experience is a plus.
  • A minimum of 1 year of sterile and/or non-sterile compounding experience is preferred.
  • Kentucky Pharmacist License is required.
  • Licensure in additional states is advantageous but not essential.

Schedule: 1st Shift, 4-10 Hour Shifts
