POSITION SUMMARY: The Housekeeping Manager is tasked with ensuring that guest accommodations, workspaces, and the overall hotel environment are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and order. This role involves overseeing daily operations and upholding housekeeping protocols. The Housekeeping Manager supervises room attendants, laundry staff, and other housekeeping personnel to guarantee an exceptional guest experience. Regular inspections of guest rooms and public areas are conducted to ensure compliance with brand cleanliness and appearance standards.

The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive knowledge of housekeeping policies and hotel procedures, as well as the proper maintenance and usage of cleaning equipment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee the efficient operation of designated housekeeping areas.
  • Supervise and guide Room Attendants, Housekeeping Staff, and Laundry Personnel.
  • Coordinate and streamline the room preparation process.
  • Assign daily room cleaning and deep cleaning tasks to the team.
  • Ensure the cleanliness of guest rooms, hallways, and service areas.
  • Inspect occupied and departing rooms, paying special attention to guest preferences.
  • Manage guest requests and communicate them effectively to relevant departments.
  • Conduct routine inspections of guest accommodations to ensure adherence to standards.
  • Maintain awareness of all room types and available amenities.
  • Respond to guest inquiries promptly and effectively.
  • Implement lost and found procedures as necessary.
  • Report maintenance concerns to the appropriate department.
  • Ensure completion of all safety training requirements.
  • Advocate for the needs of the housekeeping team within the hotel.
  • Adhere to hotel security, fire safety regulations, and health legislation.
  • Collaborate with other departments to foster positive working relationships.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Physical ability to stand, walk, kneel, bend, and lift for extended periods typical of a housekeeping role.
  • Capability to push up to 75 lbs. and lift/carry up to 25 lbs.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Prior experience in the hospitality industry is highly preferred.
  • Two to three years of experience in hotel housekeeping.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and leading teams.
