Pharmacy Technician

Job Summary:

As a Pharmacy Technician at Walgreens, you will play a vital role in assisting pharmacists in the practice of pharmacy, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of prescription dispensing, and providing exceptional customer service to our patients and customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist pharmacists in the performance of pharmacy duties, including retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs, verifying medicine, and checking for possible interactions.

• Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions accurately and efficiently.

• Engage with customers and patients, providing assistance with products and services, resolving customer issues, and answering questions to ensure a positive customer experience.

• Develop strong relationships with most valuable customers, modeling and sharing customer service best practices with all team members.

• Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly pharmacy department, ensuring adequate supplies and adhering to company policies and procedures.

• Participate in training and development programs, earning and maintaining PTCB or ExCPT certification, and acquiring continuing education credits to maintain knowledge and skills in healthcare and pharmacy.

Requirements:

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).

• Requires willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment.

• Prefer prior work experience with Walgreens.

• Prefer good math skills for accurate prescription filling, including counting, measuring, and weighing medications.

• Prefer good computer skills and knowledge of store inventory control.

• Prefer PTCB or ExCPT certification.
