Role Summary

The Mechanical Engineer for Current Products will play a vital role in overseeing and enhancing existing product lines. This position involves actively monitoring customer feedback and insights from various departments including sales, marketing, and customer service to pinpoint areas for product enhancement in terms of quality, cost, and usability. The engineer will conceptualize product improvements, perform feasibility assessments, and coordinate validation testing for both new and revised designs. Additionally, the role supports production scaling by assessing and qualifying tooling capacity.

Key Responsibilities

As a member of our team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing tooling management for all products post-launch.
  • Collaborating with forecasting and procurement teams to establish and approve necessary tooling capacity.
  • Tracking product quality metrics and implementing improvements throughout the supply chain.
  • Engaging with manufacturing partners to address issues identified during quality inspections.
  • Providing ongoing feedback to the product team to ensure insights are integrated into new product developments.
  • Participating in mechanical evaluations and testing to confirm the durability and performance of new products.
  • Employing advanced tools to devise innovative mechanical solutions for complex challenges.
  • Safeguarding the company's intellectual property through design and patent processes.

Qualifications

We are looking for candidates who thrive in a collaborative environment and possess the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 1-5 years of relevant experience in mechanical or product design development, with a preference for consumer goods.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling/design, with SolidWorks experience being advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of material properties and manufacturing processes, particularly in injection molding.
  • Familiarity with reliability testing principles, experimental design, and material processes.
  • Experience working with Asian OEM partners and manufacturing suppliers is preferred, with potential travel to global sites.
