Job Summary

Encompass Health Corp. is seeking a Graduate Nurse to join our team in a transitional role. This position is designed to provide a supportive environment for new graduates to develop their skills and knowledge while working under the supervision of experienced RNs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care activities under the supervision of RNs
  • Learn to operate various medical devices and equipment
  • Develop knowledge of disease processes and treatment options
  • Interact with healthcare professionals, including nurses, physicians, and therapists
  • Work to expand clinical knowledge and skills through hands-on experience
  • Familiarize yourself with the hospital environment and policies
  • Assist RNs in completing tasks that support patient care activities
  • Complete patient care activities as assigned, promoting excellent patient satisfaction and outcomes
Requirements
  • CPR certification
  • Proof of completion of a RN program and eligibility to sit for NCLEX
  • Must take NCLEX within six months of being granted Graduate Nurse status
Physical and Environmental Demands
  • Good visual acuity and ability to communicate
  • Ability to lift, lower, push, pull, and retrieve objects weighing a minimum of 30 pounds
  • Ability to withstand prolonged standing and walking
  • Ability to reach, stoop, bend, kneel, and crouch for patient care functions
Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and communicate effectively
  • Ability to coordinate, analyze, observe, make decisions, and meet deadlines in a detail-oriented manner
  • Ability to work independently without constant supervision
Environmental Conditions
  • Indoor, temperature-controlled, smoke-free environment
  • Occasional outdoor exposure
  • Exposure or potential exposure to blood and body fluids may be required
