We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Center Custodian to join our team at the University of California, Irvine. As a key member of our housekeeping staff, you will play a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of our hospital facilities.
Responsibilities- Safely perform a variety of cleaning tasks to ensure the sanitation of the hospital, utilizing prescribed cleaning methods and procedures.
- Utilize universal precautions and personal protective equipment as necessary to ensure both personal safety and to minimize the spread of infection.
- Accurately stock supplies and linen and use exceptional customer service in all interactions.
- Report to the Facility Services Supervisor and the Director of Facility Services.
- Demonstrate skills and knowledge necessary to safely perform a wide variety of cleaning tasks throughout the hospital.
- One year work experience in a healthcare facility or hotel environment preferred.
- Possess the ability to read, write, and understand English.
- Hospital Mandatory Education Requirements: Orientation, OSHA, EOC, Infection Control, Abuse/Neglect, and Ethics. Tuberculosis Screening.
- Must possess the skill, knowledge, and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties.
- Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System.
- Knowledge of university and medical center organizations, policies, procedures, and forms.
