Job Description

The Emergency Services Technician at MedStar Health assists nursing staff in the Emergency Department by providing basic care to patients and performing various medical procedures under supervision.

Responsibilities include:

  • Invasive and non-invasive procedures, monitoring vital signs, and supporting patients with daily activities.
  • Performing eye irrigations and visual acuity testing.
  • Taking vital signs and providing basic nursing support including, but not limited to: responding to call lights, collecting specimens from patients, completing flow, graphic and Intake and Output (I&O) sheets, and transporting patients, his/her personal possessions, medical records, and attached clinical devices (IV's and oxygen) by wheelchair, stretcher, bed, etc. to various hospital locations throughout the Hospital.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • EMT registry.
  • 1-3 years of clinical hospital or EMS experience, hospital experience preferred.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.

Estimated Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year.
