The Emergency Services Technician at MedStar Health assists nursing staff in the Emergency Department by providing basic care to patients and performing various medical procedures under supervision.
Responsibilities include:
- Invasive and non-invasive procedures, monitoring vital signs, and supporting patients with daily activities.
- Performing eye irrigations and visual acuity testing.
- Taking vital signs and providing basic nursing support including, but not limited to: responding to call lights, collecting specimens from patients, completing flow, graphic and Intake and Output (I&O) sheets, and transporting patients, his/her personal possessions, medical records, and attached clinical devices (IV's and oxygen) by wheelchair, stretcher, bed, etc. to various hospital locations throughout the Hospital.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- EMT registry.
- 1-3 years of clinical hospital or EMS experience, hospital experience preferred.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
Estimated Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year.
