Aurora Cancer Care Float Nurse

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Float RN to join our team at Aurora Cancer Care. As a Float RN, you will provide high-quality patient care in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide ongoing care to patients with cancer, utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, and implement individualized care plans.
- Assess educational needs and provide teaching and counseling to patients and their families, promoting health literacy and empowerment.
- Integrate health promotion and preventive aspects of care, addressing social determinants of health and coordinating care with community resources.
- Administer medications, including chemotherapy, biologic therapies, and other intravenous medications, as assigned.
- Perform central venous access device management and transfusion of blood products, adhering to policy and guidelines.
- Provide telephone consultation and care coordination to patients, families, and significant others, utilizing established protocols and policies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical and patient records, adhering to system policies and state and federal guidelines.
- Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which you practice.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification, obtained within 6 months.
- ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy Provider Card/Certificate, obtained within 30 days of hire.
- ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy Provider Card/Certificate, obtained within 30 days of hire.
- 2 years of experience in a clinical setting, including experience in oncology.
- BSN degree.
- ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy Provider Card/Certificate, obtained within 30 days of hire.
- OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse) certification.
