About the Role

The University of Virginia's College at Wise is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Police Officer to join our team. As a Police Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment on campus.

Key Responsibilities
  • Enforce laws and regulations on campus, including traffic laws and university policies
  • Provide emergency response services, including first aid and crisis intervention
  • Pursue and apprehend suspects in connection with crimes committed on campus
  • Investigate accidents and incidents, gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses as needed
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent required; Virginia DCJS Law Enforcement Officer Certification preferred
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
  • Able to handle firearms and operate a motor vehicle safely
