At the University of Miami, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Nurse Navigator 3 (H) to join our team at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, Florida.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and a valid State of Florida Registered Nurse (RN) license. With a minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience, they will have honed their skills in collecting, organizing, and analyzing data, as well as proficiency in computer software such as Microsoft Office.

The salary for this position is estimated to be around $90,000 per year, based on industry standards and cost of living in South Florida.

The primary responsibilities of this role include:

  • Triaging new patient appointments to the appropriate provider(s) and ensuring timely scheduling of initial appointments.
  • Reviewing outside medical records for appropriate scheduling.
  • Assessing barriers to care and referring patients to support services, local, and national organizations when needed.
  • Educating patients and their families about their diagnosis and treatment plan.
  • Supporting patients throughout the care continuum.
  • Counseling individuals on positive health practices.
  • Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of experts to outline the best treatment for patients.
  • Performing holistic evaluations of specialty populations to achieve better results.
