Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team at the University of New Mexico Athletics Facilities. As a Custodian, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our facilities, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our students, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform general custodial duties, including dusting, mopping, vacuuming, and cleaning restrooms
  • Restock paper and soap supplies, and perform routine maintenance on custodial equipment
  • Empty trash receptacles, dispose of trash, and bag trash for proper disposal
  • Unlock doors and ensure they are locked after cleaning areas
  • Report needs and concerns to appropriate staff, including submitting work orders and checking supply levels
  • Assist in on-the-job training of new staff on routine procedures
  • Perform cleaning functions specific to assigned facilities and/or based on seasonal/project requirements
  • May provide vendors with access to areas for cleaning and answer basic questions
  • May assist or perform snow removal activities and minor maintenance
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; completed degree(s) from an accredited institution may be substituted for experience
  • No previous experience required; on-the-job training provided
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
  • Physical ability to lift, carry, and move heavy objects
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
