We are seeking a highly skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team at Ryder System. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on our fleet of heavy-duty vehicles.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, brake and tire work, and other preventative measures to ensure the reliability and safety of our vehicles.
- Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computer tools and other equipment.
- Complete detailed mechanical inspections and repairs with minimal supervision.
- Work unsupervised on most tasks, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Interact with customers and drivers to determine the nature of complaints and provide solutions.
- Utilize shop management systems and electronic documentation to track and manage maintenance activities.
- Work in accordance with all federal and corporate compliance guidelines, including safety and regulatory requirements.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Vocational or technical certification, or post-secondary degree in a related field, preferred.
- Basic tools, required.
- Demonstrated aptitude and experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventative maintenance and basic diagnostics.
- Three or more years of relevant work experience, preferred.
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A, preferred.
- All other certifications as required by location, required.
- Competitive hourly pay rate.
