ER RN Job Description

Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking an experienced ER RN to join our team in Knoxville. This is a 13-week contract position with competitive pay and benefits.

Job Summary

The Emergency Department Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced emergency room setting. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of one year of experience in emergency room nursing and be able to work effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in the emergency room setting
  • Use clinical judgment to manage patient care safely and effectively
  • Triage patients according to the severity and critical nature of their condition
  • Communicate effectively with other medical professionals involved in patient care
  • Identify and recognize abnormal symptoms and changes in patient condition, and take appropriate action
  • Carry out providers' orders accurately and timely
  • Perform and/or assist in emergency treatment as required
  • Follow emergency policies, procedures, and protocols effectively
Requirements
  • Current Registered Nurse License within the state of practice
  • Minimum of one year emergency room experience preferred
  • Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
  • Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicable
  • Current CPR if applicable
  • TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
  • Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
  • Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
  • Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site
  • Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements
  • Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language is required
  • Computer proficiency required
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
